After an extensive career in the challenging insurance world, I have decided to follow my true passion in life which combines my love of helping people relax and feel better about themselves along with the prevention and treatment of sporting injuries.
As a regular cyclist and triathlon participant, I have a great understanding of the muscles and joints likely to be pushed to their limits during training and competition.
With the encouragement of friends, I have established Hands On Mobile Massage servicing clients initially in the Noosa and the Sunshine Coast region and now in the Cairns region from April 2022.
In my spare time you will find me either working as a Medic / First Responder at many sporting events including AFL, Rugby, Triathlon / Ironman or actively participating in cycling or triathlon activities around Cairns and the Northern Beaches, (and if I'm really lucky back cycling the French Alps one day).
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the massage treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
Massage is a tool to help heal and relax. Whether it's stress, illness, to pamper yourself, or to keep your body in the best shape for your next sporting challenge, the benefits of a massage cannot be understated. Allow me to take that journey with you. Your physical wellbeing is my business.
The goal of a Remedial Massage is to assess and treat soft tissue dysfunction that is causing pain and restricting movement. The assessment may include appraising your health history, palpating your muscles and joints, performing motion testing and other physical assessments. The treatment component will include utilising a range of techniques such as Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Techniques & Myofascial Trigger Points, Positional Release Therapy, and Muscle Energy Technique & Mobilisations.
The goal of a Swedish (Relaxation) Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. It is extremely beneficial as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
